Every woman has the right to choose her birthing place and lead maternity carer (LMC). At Albany Midwives at Apollo we are passionate about all aspects of natural birth. We recognise the uniqueness of each woman and try to work closely with her and her family/whanau. We hope to enhance the birth experience through knowledgeable, research based practice and a caring, holistic approach.
Your midwife is fully trained to take this journey with you. Midwives are qualified to ensure that the normal pregnancy, birth and postnatal process is taking place. We are equipped to recognise abnormal events and signs, acting upon any findings in an appropriate way.
If you believe that the birth process can work without medical intervention, then it probably will. Most women will birth naturally with little or no intervention. We look forward to sharing this journey with you.
